ABOUT ANTHONY

I was born and raised here in Tehachapi, CA growing up in the Catholic Faith where I participated in Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation all by the age of 17.  At age 17 I realized that I needed to make all these decisions on my own. I asked Christ in my life after graduating high school, where I met my high school sweetheart Sarah Donnel.

Sarah and I got married at age 20, and we started attending COBC as a couple in 1996. Sarah had already been attending COBC since she was in Junior High. At age 21 I reconfirmed my faith in believer’s baptism at a COBC marriage retreat, and started serving in ministry as a sound tech one year after calling this our church home. My wife and I have 3 kids: AJ, Andrew and Keturah. We love spending as much time as possible with each of them, preferably all together.

I have been blessed to serve at COBC since 1997. During this time, the Lord has allowed me to serve on the men’s ministry board, serve as the tech ministry leader for 20 years, and have the privilege of working on staff the last couple of years as the Director of Facilities. I’ve worked in the construction field for over 25 years, so I was blessed to work and manage our volunteers on the building of the new sanctuary project in 1999.

What I’ve learned over the years being at COBC and what I am reminded of by the great leadership and some of my best guy friends here at the church is my favorite verse, Proverbs 27:17: As iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.
