My wife Nancy and I were raised in south Texas. Our fathers worked at the same place and over the years often carpooled together. Our mothers even worked in the same school district for a time. Nancy and I met when I was a freshman in High School. We have been married over 51 years. I joined the Air Force in 1969, and after 5 assignments in twenty years, we retired at Edwards AFB in 1989. Edwards had been the center of much of our working lives since 1985. Nancy taught 5th grade at Forbes Elementary for 24 years, retiring in 2010. We moved to Tehachapi in 1987 and have been part of the Country Oaks family from the beginning. Christ saved us both as children.

We have two grown daughters. Heather and her husband Adam have four children and live in Bakersfield. Abby and her husband Geoff have five children and live here in Tehachapi.
